SCOTLAND. James VI. 1567-1625. AV Unite (38mm, 9.69 g, 8h). Ninth coinage. Edinburgh mint; mm: thistle (both sides). (Ashmolean & Hunterian), 1343 (same obverse dies); Spink-5464. Near EF (American grading "ABOUT UNCIRCULATED"). Coin has been professionally cleaned, leaving no hairlines whatsoever but it does have a somewhat bright appearance as a result. It is of remarkably strong detail throughout including the center devices on both sides, was struck on a broad flan, and is overall a most attractive and impressive example of the type.
